About

The Swiss Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Japan (SCCIJ) was founded and formally approved by the Japanese Ministry of Industry and Trade on February 25, 1982.

Japan's growing importance as a market for Swiss products and services, and its widening opportunities for local

production and licensing, hardly require an introduction. The role and objectives of the SCCIJ can best be summarized as:

To promote the development of commerce between Switzerland and Japan.

To promote measures to serve the interests of Swiss companies and citizens in Japan.

To represent, express and give effect to the opinions of the Swiss business community and companies in Japan on trade, industry, finance and related issues, and to provide a forum for communication among Swiss, Japanese and other business professionals.

To collect, evaluate and disseminate to members on a regular basis, information concerning commerce, industry and other undertakings of interest to them.

To pursue these goals and to fulfill its obligations to its members, the SCCIJ maintains active and regular relations with Japanese business and government circles. It is also in regular contact with the Swiss Embassy in Tokyo, the Consulate General of Switzerland in Osaka, as well as with authorities in Switzerland interested in the expansion of business with Japan.
